For a public customer, pi-lar GmbH is involved in the evaluation, development and test of various technologies in the field of (self-sovereign) digital identities. During the process pi-lar GmbH has supported with its expertise in areas such as SecDevOps, system integration, security and privacy design, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities included:

• the development of solutions based on both established and experimental technologies, as well as assessing and analyzing them for security and privacy concerns
• Effective communication with the interdisciplinary team, stakeholders and the public as a key element
• the information of legislation about technological conditions and possibilities, serving as a basis for implementing pilot projects

As the final product is intended for a public client, pilot projects are available to the public as open-source solutions.

The contribution and expertise of pi-lar GmbH has proven to be a invaluable asset throughout the whole development process for the product.

Most recently, we worked with pi-lar GmbH on a project to secure interfaces. This included the definition and implementation of security measures in accordance with the IT baseline protection catalogs from the BSI and the corresponding transfer of know-how to the team. Together, we defined the roadmap for this and have already achieved initial successes thanks to the holistic approach.

We have found both in particular for the growing challenges and requirements of our customers in the area of service-oriented architectures, hybrid clouds, IoT, i.e. in the transition of our customers from today's mostly still quite "classic" world of IT-supported process and platform optimization into the implementation and value-added use of qualitatively new, "digitized" business, work and operating models in and with pil-lar GmbH and have been able to prove it in joint projects.
